Repressed Emotions

Artist statement:

The third piece in the "Deprimere" series, created as my graduate thesis at the Academy. The work consists of three iron cages in the shape of triangular prisms, each containing three heads.

Through further emotional analysis, I realized that I repress many memories and emotions, which in turn limit me in everyday life. Negative memories—and even positive ones linked to the negative—were placed in a metaphorical cage and pushed deep inside. However, they also "imprisoned" me with feelings of fear and mistrust.

Uncovering and accepting repressed emotions helps us liberate ourselves from the fears and inhibitions that weigh down our lives.
