Pilgrimage

Artist statement:

A series of works created in the period preceding the earthquake and the pandemic. During the first lockdown, the pieces remained on their pedestals at the Academy, where they fell and shattered during the earthquake. The only survivor was this kneeling figure, appearing as if it were mourning its fallen brethren.
