Upon Landing

Artist statement:

The bronze sculpture Upon Landing depicts a horse at the moment of descent, supported on a single front leg, captured in a tense balance between movement and mass. The black patina recalls the color of a black horse, while the stone cube pedestal—with its rough, almost concrete-like texture—evokes the aesthetic of monumental socialist-era memorials. Despite its small dimensions, the work conveys a sense of sculptural grandiosity: the contrast between the dynamic figure and the massive base creates a tension between strength, elegance, and the weight of memory.
