Sea Storm Crème de la Crème

Artist statement:

The work "Nevera Crème de la Crème" from the series "Sea Storms" is based on a previous plaster model, in which rain was depicted with wire. This version is entirely cast in bronze: a massive cloud from which a waterspout descends, a turbulent sea, and rain falling from a single direction are all shaped in a durable, dynamic material.

The sculpture is fully patinated in black, yet while it was temporarily exhibited outdoors on Šolta Island, the sea air left traces of natural green patina, highlighting the material’s dynamism and vitality. With a weight of approximately 40 kg of bronze and meticulous detailing, the work conveys a sense of power, tension, and the beauty of a storm.

The piece combines monumentality and intimacy: it captivates through its volume and material, while simultaneously evoking the natural force of the storm and human fragility in its presence. Nevera Crème de la Crème — a luxurious, powerful, and symbolic sculpture, worthy of attention and admiration.
