Artist Statement:
The sculpture Stranded from the series Storms consists of stainless steel tripods that form its base, immersed in a bronze sea. The sea spreads around a rocky island, blowing from one side, while on the island rests a small bronze paper boat, marked with holes and traces of wreckage.
The work creates a tension between stability and instability, between stone and sea, between safety and decay. The stainless steel tripod, the bronze sea, and the paper boat symbolize fragility, resilience, and uncertainty in moments of storm, evoking a sense of solitude and struggle against the unpredictable forces of nature and life.
