On a pillar

Artist statement:

This sculpture from the Ballerinas series depicts a clay, shellac-coated figure in a warm caramel tone, with legs and arms raised above an iron-and-concrete column. The pedestal, taken from a parking lot and marked by the patina of time, carries the traces of its past, while the airborne ballerina creates a sense of leap and dynamic movement. The figure evokes parkour and free forms of motion, subtly reflecting my love for extreme sports, combining the grace of the dance gesture with a touch of urban modernism.
